Another Home Abroad

this is quite a large area but doesn't have as much in the way of sights and delights. It has some great bars and restaurants and is by some considered as a quiet copy of the Old South, with a lot of 'real' Amsterdam people living there and fewer shops. It's based alongside the Vondelpark as well. Getting a parking permit in this area can take quite a while.
Amsterdam South consists of 2 parts; The Vondelpark area is stylish and residential. Desired by families who like to enjoy city life. With elegant mansions, many restaurants, famous museums and classy shopping streets. De Pijp is a vibrant and loose neighbourhood with the Albert Cuyp market, many bars and restaurants and artistic shops and residents. If you want somewhere with a great local vibe, than this is the area to stay or even visit. Buitenveldert lies between Amsterdam and Amstelveen and is more suburban
The unique, beautiful and world famous canals, the Jordaan Area with its 'Nine Streets' that has so many independent shops and boutiques and small historical working class houses from centuries ago. The Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, where you'll find the Amsterdam nightlife (with nightclubs, grand café's, disco's, bars and theater's). Living in the Centre of Amsterdam will be an experience that stays with you for the rest of your life. When you come with your family, come with a car or if you like living in a more quiet area, you might want to consider staying somewhere else though. The houses are very not really suitable for modern family life and the waiting list for a parking permit runs up to many years.
is a residential zone between the Amstel River and the Centre. It has attractions like the Tropical Museum and the great streetmarket Dappermarkt. Some parts are known for having many ethnic minority groups. There are nice views along the Amstel, a celebrity frequented hotel (the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam), restaurants (De Kas, La Rive) and the legendary Royal Theater Carré. The beautiful park Frankendael is wonderful to walk through!
